One of our bucket list items was to go to Hershey Pennsylvania. It was a super fun trip. Our first stop was to a museum that taught us how the first Hershey factory operated. It was crazy to think that someone use to wrap each individual Hershey kiss. There was a whole lot of back braking work involved in a simple bar of chocolate. We also got to have a chocolate tasting there. They brought us 8 different chocolates that were around the world. Every thing from very dark chocolate to very sweet milk chocolate and everything in between. It was very interesting and the kids really enjoyed it. Wiley loved the dark chocolates and all the other kids loved the one that tasted a bit like caramel was mixed in. After that we went to the place that showed how chocolate is made today. It was fun to understand the stark differences of how much easier it is today. The creepy cow was the only downside. We got to try all kinds of food for lunch that had added chocolate to the recipes. From pulled pork to chicken and tortilla chips. We ended the day at the hotel swimming and hanging out and then in the morning we woke up to an ice storm. Instead of driving home in it we went to the movies so that the roads could melt before we headed home. We had a great time and will never see chocolate the same way again.
