For Thanksgiving the Kintners came to Virginia to spend it with Barb's sister Kathy. While they were here we got to spend a day with them. It was great to see them. We have missed them so much since the move. They came the day after Thanksgiving and we headed on the Metro down to the Arlington National Cemetery. It was sure a sight to see. So many many tomb stones lined the acres of grassy fields. It really makes you stop and think of what has been sacrificed so that we are free here in America. We also got to see the tomb of the unknown soldier. It was very interesting to see the changing of the guards and to watch how they day in and day out guard this sacred place. Mike has explained to us how much training and back ground checks these men have to go through to be able to do this duty. They see it as a great honor and sacrifice a lot to be able to do it.
The day went by too fast and before we knew it the Kintners had to head on their way. It was great to catch up and get to laugh and hang out just like we did before. They are such great people and we feel so lucky that we get to have them in our lives.
