We are now in Virginia and our promise to our kids before we moved was that while we were living here we would try and do at least 18 cool things. There is so much to see and do here that it shouldn't be a problem. We have spent days trying make our lists of things to do so that we make sure that we get to do the coolest things here in the area. Shortly after we got here we decided to make the trip to the National Zoo in D.C to check off one of our bucket list items. One thing that is cool around here is that many things are free to the public. It makes it so nice for big families like ours to be able to go to these things and not have to take out a loan every time we do. They do like to get you on the parking though. We had a great time. It was a bit cooler but not cold and so there weren't a billion people there. They had some pretty awesome animals, especially for a free zoo. The kids love to see all of the animals and it is pretty fun to see Jamen come alive. He is so super smart. He can tell you about almost any animal that he sees. He knows their names, even the ones I haven't ever seen and all sorts of facts about them. I love to listen to him. Wiley was happy because he got to see a giant gorilla, they are his favorite. It was a super fun day. It was the first relaxing day we had had since we moved to Virginia. There is nothing like hanging out and seeing cool things as a family.
