1st Day of School 2015

I really do hate first days of school.  I enjoy my kids at home with me during the summer.  We have such a great time together and it is always hard to think that now the school gets them longer than I do each day.  I wish I could stop them from growing up.  It is crazy to me that we have a 7th, 5th, 3rd and 1st grader this year.  Mike keeps telling me when I get sad that they can't change the world just staying at home.  I guess I agree but I still don't like it.

This morning Rudy wanted to tag along as we dropped the kids at the bus stop for their first day of school. After we got home, I found Rudy sitting at the table with his breakfast and four of his favorite tractors, arranged by size. Considering that we don't usually allow toys at the table, I asked him what he was doing. His reply "These aren't tractors Dad. This one is Laila, this is Noah, this is Wiley, and this one is Jamen." It's going to be lonely without your wingmen/woman for a bit. Lucky for you, you have the best mom in the whole world to play tractors with. You know you have great kids when they miss each other for even a few hours
