Tender Mercies

Written by Grandpa Barker....A couple of weeks ago Karen and I got an unexpected visit from a very good friend, Tawna Tawna Fewkes Petersen . (I look like her great grandfather) She was a 13 (or so) year-old girl living in Legaspi, Philippines, when I was a missionary there (circa 1969). Her family treated me very well, fed us, helped us get through tough times, etc. Since then, she has come to the USA, married, has a family, and a son on a mission. He presently is serving in Valparaiso, Indiana, where my son Mike Barker and his family feeds and takes good care of him. It is amazing what happens when you love Jesus Christ. Tender mercies.
